Area of Operation
MEDREP-Uganda is licensed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs NGO Board, in Uganda, to operate countrywide. The organization started operations in Wasiko district in Entebbe Municipality and so far, operations have been extended to Iganga, Jinja, Mayuge, Kampala City and Rakai.
These districts were chosen based on their regional variations, magnitude of the reproductive and child health related problems, malnutrition, under-served rural and densely populated areas with high fertility rates.
We need your support to improve Reproductive Health, Green Nutrition and Child protection at Household and community levels.
We work with community leaders(technical, political, cultural and religious), young people and volunteers for ownership and sustainability.
What We Do
We carry out advocacy, awareness creation for good family school children feeding and also support improved community Green (environmentally friendly) Nutrition and livelihoods by providing each house hold with a variety of fruit trees to provide essential nutrients and reforestation as well as providing wood trees to offer sustainable source of fuel and community reforestation, support to income generating activities. Strategic Program Areas
Education for Vulnerable Children
MEDREP Uganda also operates a Senior Secondary School that offers Ordinary and Advanced level curricula as well as Vocational skills that include tailoring, catering, carpentry etc.
Child Protection
Carrying out advocacy, awareness creation and support to the welfare of needy and vulnerable categories of children through prevention of gender based violence, child academic and vocational education, school feeding and child rights protection.
Green Nutrition and Livelihoods support
Providing each house hold with a variety of fruit trees to provide essential nutrients and reforestation as well as providing wood trees to offer sustainable source of fuel and community reforestation …
Reproductive Health
Provision of Static and Outreach Services for management of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and communicable diseases, Family planning, care and support programs for people living with HIV and AIDS.
Research
Supporting research through mobilization of research funds and offering consulting services. This is for generating and sharing new knowledge and information as well as providing opportunities for learning.
